What May Require a Correction

  • An inaccurate rate, fee, date, or product description
  • An outdated provider term
  • An incorrect calculation or example
  • An incorrect company name or attribution
  • A broken or incorrect external link
  • A misleading approval or eligibility statement
  • Missing financial-risk context
  • An unsupported professional claim

Minor Editorial Changes

Minor changes may be made without a public correction notice when they do not materially change the meaning of the content.

These changes may include:

  • Spelling and punctuation corrections
  • Formatting improvements
  • Mobile-display corrections
  • Readability improvements
  • Replacing a broken link with an equivalent source

Substantive Corrections

When a meaningful error is identified, we may:

  • Correct the inaccurate statement
  • Update a rate, fee, date, or provider term
  • Correct a calculator explanation
  • Add missing risk or eligibility context
  • Replace an unreliable source
  • Remove unsupported content
  • Add an editorial or correction note

Urgent Fraud or Security Concerns

Reports involving phishing, unsafe links, exposed financial information, fraudulent providers, compromised software, or serious security concerns receive particular attention.

Do not send passwords, account numbers, authentication codes, identity documents, or private financial records when reporting a concern.

How to Report an Error

Use our Contact Us page and include:

  • The page title or URL
  • The statement, fee, calculation, or section involved
  • A clear explanation of the issue
  • The relevant provider, product, country, and date
  • A reliable supporting source, when available

Our Review Process

  1. We locate and review the relevant page.
  2. We compare the report with available sources.
  3. We determine whether the issue is factual, numerical, editorial, or a difference in provider terms.
  4. We correct, clarify, update, retain, or remove the content as appropriate.

Commercial Correction Requests

Lenders, payment providers, advertisers, software companies, and other organizations may report factual errors.

A commercial relationship does not guarantee that a requested editorial change will be accepted.

Response Times

We aim to review legitimate reports but cannot guarantee an individual response or specific completion time.
